The Sunday Breakfast Mission provides care and support to many homeless, hurting, and hungry men, women, and children in the city of Wilmington. This holiday season we’re partnering again with the Sunday Breakfast Mission to serve those in need in the city of Wilmington. If you would like to celebrate Thanksgiving by giving back in a tangible way, the Sunday Breakfast Mission needs assistance throughout Thanksgiving week (November 19-22) in distributing food boxes, counseling guests who are searching for Jesus, carving turkeys, and preparing and serving meals. Visit their website today to get involved.
As we look toward the Christmas season, we’ll also be collecting gifts of toys, clothing, winter coats, etc. appropriate for children ages newborn through 18 years of age as part of the Sunday Breakfast Mission’s Christmas Shop! Donations can be left on the designated table in the foyer between Sunday, November 18 and Wednesday, December 5.
Family Promise is a local organization that is working to end homelessness in our area by mentoring families, teaching financial literacy, and helping them find jobs and affordable housing. As part of this process, Family Promises partners with churches to help feed and house families while they are in transition. We partner with another local church as their supporting team member, helping to provide meals. Volunteer today to prepare and serve a meal at our next Family Promise outreach by contacting us today.
In The Alliance, we believe that church planting is the most effective means of winning people to Christ, discipling them to maturity, and unleashing them into fruitful service to His Kingdom. In fact, the 22,000 churches planted by the C&MA throughout the world have resulted in a global Alliance family of more than 6 million Christ followers and counting—in this generation alone!
Prison Ministries of Delaware ministers to the needs of incarcerated and formally incarcerated men and women in Delaware, promoting spiritual growth and reducing recidivism. During the fall of 2017, we partnered with Prison Ministries in prayer that lives would be changed, barriers broken, awareness increased, systemic injustices addressed, and Jesus lifted high. We also partnered with Prison Ministries financially by raising funds to provide Bibles to inmates. Stay tuned for details on our next outreach with Prison Ministries!
Each spring, thousands of donation bottles are sent our from A Door of Hope (ADOH) to churches, homes, and beyond throughout New Castle County to support women who come to ADOH with pregnancy concerns. Often their clients face overwhelming challenges and abortion seems their best choice. But at ADOH, practical resources, education, long-term mentoring relationships, and the hope of the gospel encourage women to choose life for their unborn children. Stay tuned for details on the next Baby Bottle Boomerang in the spring of 2019.
